The traffic is very busy and can be intimidating when cycling north east along the East Wall Road with the intention of turning right onto the Alfie Byrne Road.

It's not clear whether to cycle up onto the footpath before the bridge when cycling from the East Wall Road and turning right onto Alfie Byrne Road.
Note also the bottle bank can be busy with people, and there might be broken glass around the bottle bank.

Issues with the east wall - Tom Clarke bridge roundabout include:
- very poor road surface, this is critical when so much else disadvantages someone cycling
- no markings for cycling when approaching from any direction
- no space for cycling on the Tom Clarke bridge

Could the layout of this roundabout be built out to better serve pedestrians and people cycling?
Could it be possible to reclaim unused space, to narrow the crossings?
I think this could be put on a road diet without affecting motor vehicles, while improving a little the experience as a cyclist, jogger, or walker.
